What We Believe
  1. We believe that God is the Creator of the universe.
    • Genesis 1-3
    • KEY VERSE – Genesis 1:1
  2. We believe in the Triune God – the Trinity, or Godhead.
    • God, Son, and Spirit are all three equally God in One Person
    • God the Father (Exodus 20:2-3; Matthew 4:10) / God the Son, Jesus (John 1:14; Colossians 1:15, 19; Hebrews 1:3) / God the Holy Spirit (Acts 5:3-4; 1 Corinthians 3:16-17; Hebrews 9:14)
    • KEY VERSE – Romans 8:9
  3. We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and it is true.
    • Psalm 119; 2 Peter 1:21
    • KEY VERSE – 2 Timothy 3:16-17
  4. We believe that people have sinned against God.
    • Psalm 51:1-12
    • KEY VERSE – Romans 3:23
  5. We believe that, because of our sin, we are in need of salvation from God.
    • Romans 2:12; Galatians 5:17
    • KEY VERSE – Romans 6:23
  6. We believe that Jesus died, was buried, was raised from the dead, and ascended into Heaven.
    • Jesus died (Matthew 27:45-56; 1 Corinthians 5:7; 15:3-5) / was buried (Matthew 27:57-61; 1 Corinthians 15:3-5) / was raised from the dead (Matthew 28:1-10; 1 Corinthians 15:3-5) / ascended into Heaven (Luke 24:50-53; Acts 1:9)
    • KEY VERSE – Philippians 2:6-9
  7. We believe that God provided salvation by sending His Son, Jesus, to die in our place.
    • Jesus was both fully human and fully God (John 1:14) / Jesus was born miraculously of a virgin, Mary (Matthew 1:23; Galatians 4:4) / Jesus’ death makes salvation possible (Matthew 20:28; Romans 3:25-26; 1 Timothy 2:5-6)
    • KEY VERSE – 1 Peter 3:18
  8. We believe that the Bible tells us how to be saved.
    • The basis of salvation is God’s grace – Ephesians 2:5,7-8; Titus 2:11
    • We accept God’s offer of grace by: faith (John 3:16; Romans 10:9; Ephesians 2:8), repentance (Luke 13:3; Acts 2:38; 3:19), confession of our faith (Matthew 10:32-33; 16:18; Romans 10:10), being baptized (full immersion in water) into Christ’s death and resurrection (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38; Romans 6:3-4), living a Christian life (John 15:1-8; Romans 6:8-14)
    • KEY VERSES – Ephesians 2:8-10; Romans 6:3-4
  9. We believe that Christ will return at the end of time.
    • Christ will return – John 14:1-4
    • KEY VERSE – Hebrews 9:28
  10. We believe that at the end all people will be judged by God.
    • All the dead will be resurrected and judged (John 5:29; Hebrews 9:27; Revelation 20:11-15) / The unsaved will be assigned to eternal punishment in hell (Matthew 10:28; Revelation 20:15) and the saved will be assigned to eternal reward in Heaven (Revelation 21:1—22:6)
    • KEY VERSE – Hebrews 9:27
